Please join us for a half-day conference on business & human rights hosted by the Columbia Law School Corporate Responsibility Association and the Columbia Society of International Law.
Recent years have seen an expansion of legislative efforts to address human rights abuses internationally, particularly those occurring in the global value chains. Technology and globalization have led to unprecedented global innovation and economic development, but are also linked with human rights abuses including mass surveillance, forced labour, and misinformation.
Come and listen to our distinguished panelists present their scholarship and work on these issues. The panels will discuss why human rights principles are increasingly important in the international commercial context and the responsibilities of multinational corporations and lawyers.
We are funded by Student Senate and open to all Columbia Law Students free of charge. Participants from outside of Columbia Law School are also welcome for a $25 attendance fee. Registration is required for non-Columbia Law School attendees.
